I am excited to announce that I will be competing in the upcoming Run for the Kids event on Sunday, 6th April 2025. This event holds a special place in my heart as it supports the Good Friday Appeal, raising vital funds to help children in need. 

As a primary sports teacher, I have the privilege of working with children every day, fostering their growth, confidence, and love for physical activity.  Running is not just a passion of mine; it’s a way for me to connect with the community and give back. This cause is even more personal to me as I firsthand know of students and families, both past and present, who have had experiences with the children's hospital. Participating in the 14.4km run through the streets of Melbourne is my way of combining my love for sports and my dedication to making a difference in children’s lives. I believe every child deserves access to care and opportunities, and I am committed to helping this cause. I would be grateful for any support, whether it’s a donation or words of encouragement, as we work together to make a meaningful impact.

Whilst this run is for an amazing cause, I would like to make it a bit more interesting with an extra challenge. I will be allowing the students of my primary school to choose my outfit for the day (something I can still run in!). Whether I'm dressed as a minion, Shrek or even Elsa from Frozen, the choice is up to the kids! I don't take myself too seriously and love to have a laugh so it is only fitting that I embarrass myself in front of thousands of people in ridiculous clothing! I'm looking forward to seeing what the students come up with.
